Temporary abandonment (TA) caps provide efficient capping for offshore wellheads. Designed to be installed using Remote Operated Vehicles (ROV), Subsea Installation Teams's temporary abandonment caps are easy to maneuver for installation and removal and do not require the use of winches, davits or other rigging equipment. As a result, the TA cap can be installed without interfering with other tasks on the rig and can be installed on wellheads that are not in close proximity to the rig.
Marine Urethane manufactures temporary abandonment caps using high quality polyurethane, which is a lower-cost solution than aluminum or stainless steel caps. Polyurethane is lighter than the metals and is more resistant to salt water corrosion, providing ease of installation and long-lasting performance. The material is self-sealing to the wellhead, for a secure seal without clamps.

- T-handle to provide secure lifting, both above and below water
- 5' flexible siphon tube used to inject corrosion inhibitor
- 17H hot stab receptacle
- Custom sizes are available
- Standard color is yellow, with custom colors available
